It's the "HIT" of Christmas 2005! The men of the PHS IMPACT Show Choir are featured on this CD single singing the famous tune, "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer", to their own originally-inspired lyrics that parody the ups and downs of coastal living that have followed Hurricane Katrina.
The chorus lyric sums up the hilarious perspective these students have chosen in light of such life-changing challenges:
Downtown got run over by Katrina
The storm which devastated the entire Gulf Coast region on August 29, 2005 brought such misery and suffering that these young men found it only fitting to create an artistic piece that would invoke humor and light hearted enjoyment for residents of their communities.
The tune, made famous in 1979 by Dr. Elmo Shropshire, has been among the top ten most requested songs at Christmas since its debut performance.
PHS Choir Director Shanna Luckett has produced a catchy "remix" of the song and proudly presents the following line up of talented young men:
